  “HEAL” – Health Essayists & Authors League is a non-profit NGO registered under Societies Act dedicated to advancing public understanding of health care issues.

HEAL- A ‘Health Writers’ network of SAARC countries is having its mission to improve the quality, accuracy and visibility of health care reporting, writing and to provide educational resources that support the goal of achieving high standards of ‘health awareness’ in the society. This platform will   facilitate ‘Health Writers’ feel more responsible and privileged towards their profession.
 
  Aims:
Creating opportunities for members to meet and exchange ideas.
To initiate educational and training opportunities for health communicators in all regions.
Keeping them updated regarding research opportunities in health matters.
Promoting health writers by nominating them for media awards, research scholarships, and participation in the health seminars as panelists.
To initiate educational and training opportunities for health communicators in all regions of SAARC.
Serve as a conduit for members’ health writings to the most prestigious journals of the world.
Facilitating communication between scientists, doctors, researchers and journalists
To create a referral repository of health information & inputs for health writers & to keep them updated

To support the highest standards of reporting, writing, editing, and broadcasting in health care journalism.
To develop a strong and vibrant community of health journalists.
To raise the stature of health care journalism in newsrooms, the industry, and the public, as a whole.
To promote understanding between journalists and sources of news about how each can best serve the public.
Our goal is to increase public awareness of health in India.
To promote and reward balanced and accurate health reporting in India and the neighbouring SAARC countries.
To help in building a ‘healthier society’ through responsible and appropriate ‘health awareness’ amongst the masses.
To partner with governmental and non-governmental health awareness programs and to help them achieving their real goals.
  To support the highest standards of reporting, writing, editing, and broadcasting in health care journalism for the general public and trade publications.
  To develop a strong and vibrant community of journalists concerned with all forms of health care journalism.
  To raise the stature of health care journalism in newsrooms, the industry, and the public, as a whole.
  To promote understanding between journalists and sources of news about how each can best serve the public.
  To advocate for the free flow of information to the public.
  To advocate for the improvement of professional development opportunities for journalists who cover any aspect of health and health care.
   
 

Heal e-Newsletter is India’s first E-newsletter published weekly showcases the activities of HEAL Seminars Workshops as well as inputs and information associated with health and well being.

Heal e-Newsletter is circulated amongst more than 200 Health Writers, 50 Lifestyle & Beauty Writers across India and SAARC countries and about 1000 Professionals in Health Care Industry and Health Ministries across India.
